Political Science

The discipline of Political Science examines the relationship of government to other institutions, other nations, and to the people of our country. Sub-disciplines include International Relations, American Government, Political Philosophy, Comparative Governments, and Public Administration.
Political Scientists analyze those procedures and individuals involved in running our country and creating our laws, making our history, and helping to ensure our safety and prosperity. Opportunities exist in the Federal Civil Service, Homeland Security, Armed Forces, and Foreign service, or by participating in the making of laws and the legal profession. An excellent source of information about the field of Political Science is the website of the American Political Science Association.
