To meet the requirements
for the Associate in Arts Degree at Indian River State College,
students must earn a total of sixty (60) semester hours, including
thirty-six (36) semester hours of General Education plus twenty-four
(24) semester hours of qualified elective courses.

For Honors Students who
wish to earn an Honors Certificate in conjunction with the
Associate in Arts Degree, fifteen (15) of the required sixty (60)
semester hours must be in specially designated Honors Courses (which
must include IDS 1110-H). To
graduate with an Honors Certificate, students must have a
minimum overall Grade Point Average of 3.5, and they must complete
fifteen (15) hours of Service Learning.

For
Honors Students who wish to earn an Honors Diploma in
conjunction with the Associate in Arts Degree, twenty-four (24) of the
required sixty (60) semester hours must be in specially designated
Honors Courses (which must include IDS 1110-H). To graduate with an Honors Diploma, students
must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average of 3.5, and they
must complete twenty-five (25) hours of Service Learning. Students
who graduate with an Honors Diploma will also complete a
Capstone Project to be presented to an academic audience at the
completion of their degree program.
